And finally… here we are.
After a never-ending waiting list – we have been waiting a couple of months to get in! – we are finally ready to try the best afternoon tea in London!
My ex colleagues Jessica and Francesca and I couldn’t wait to give ourselves a treat, the Mad Hatter afternoon tea at the Sanderson Hotel .
Are you ready to follow me and the White Rabbit?

The exterior of the Sanderson let myself down as it has nothing to do with the traditional historical buildings I love. The hotel is an anonymous architecture situated in a side street of the cluttered Oxford Street.
Nevertheless, as I walk in through the hall I am pleased to see Jessica and Francesca already seated in the courtyard garden: it really seems to enter in Wonderland!
While admiring the cups and the teapots adorned with kings and queens and the carillon sugar bowl, we put a strain on the tea choice. Every single little bottle looks like the magic potion Alice had to drink to grow bigger or smaller. Each one is dedicated to a character of the fairytale and, believe me, choosing one among the others has been extremely demanding!

Once chosen the tea, we order a glass of champagne and between one chat and the other the stand arrives on our table and… it’s just jaw-dropping!

Mushroom and caterpillar marshmallows, pocket watch macaroons, ladybird cakes and The Queen of Hearts cookies …
I feel sorry to eat these masterpieces! And… what about the Magic Potion?

I’m so pleased to have had the opportunity to enjoy the best afternoon tea in London together with my friends…
But when you are enjoying yourself time flies and so, without even realising it, the moment to get out this fairytale has come…
It’s Late! It’s late!
