My favourites bookshops in London

My favourites bookshops in London

When I walk in a bookshop I can seriously be dangerous.
It is impossible for me to get out with empty hands.
Sometimes I do feel I’m addicted to “literary shopping”, and since I’ve moved to London this feeling it’s getting worse as there are so many bookshops in London.

Although I love all of them unconditionally and I still need to visit a lot of them, I would like to share with you a list of my favourites bookshops in London.
They are magical spots where I literally love to get lost in.

4. The Italian Bookshop
5. Review Bookshop

Daunt Books – Marylebone

Huge arcades and majestic windows, Edwardian style.
When I walk into this bookshop it feels like traveling in time.
At Daunt Books, the volumes are displayed by country: next to the map and the guide of each country you find the titles of the same nationality.
A sensory journey and a unique experience for one of the most breathtaking bookshops in London.

 The Notting Hill Bookshop

As soon as you get in, you feel like you are in the middle of one of the most famous Notting Hill‘s romantic scenes: who does not remember Anne Scott/Julia Roberts bumping into William Thacker/Hugh Grant?

Beside the worldwide popularity given by the famous movie, The Notting Hill Bookshop is actually one of the most loved bookshops in London.
In the past it was mostly specialised in travel books, but now it offers, among the others, a wide range of children books.

Southbank Centre Book Market

A Sunday stroll along the Thames is a Londoner’s must and this outdoor bookshop underneath the Waterloo Bridge is a mandatory stop.

On the shelves of the Southbank Centre Book Market you may find the book you were not able to find anywhere else.

All the volumes are second-hand… well, it’s a good excuse to buy more than one of them, isn’t it?

The Italian Bookshop

OK… I might be a little subjective on this one here, even if my Italian pride comes out rarely.

After the success of Dimmi che credi al destino, a book written by Luca Bianchini, everyone knows Ornella’s story.

The Italian Bookshop is not merely a bookshop: it is the Italians’ living in London lounge, a place where you can socialise, read, organise events and basically feel at home.

Review Bookshop

A little treasure hidden in an London area called Peckam, where in the past – it’s said – cab drivers didn’t want to venture.

A smart selection of art, design and architecture books is enhanced by a cute garden where you can enjoy your new purchases and play chess while sipping freshly made coffee.

In addition to being the location for a lot of events, the Review Bookshop boasts a literary Festival created by its owner.
